Sourdough Bread

Sourdough bread is made using natural leavening. The process uses a sourdough starter, which is a live culture of wild yeast and bacteria in flour and water. This starter leavens the bread, providing its rich flavor (unlike its name, it doesn't always have a sour taste), chewy texture, and extended shelf life. Sourdough is also often easier to digest because the fermentation process breaks down some of the gluten.
